Pocket Sized Pieces of Wisdom

Play hard, love deeply, travel far.
Grab you life with 2 hands
& shake the shit out of it.
Empty your cup for others
& then spend alone time
filling it back up…

Move your body,
make things with your hands,
push creative boundaries,
triple down on your strengths
& be brave enough to be
honest & vulnerable
by sharing your stories…

Be humble,
be elegant,
be beautiful inside out
& back to front
Live with integrity,
believe in quality
& be the very best version
of yourself…

Constantly put yourself
in other peoples shoes,
be kind to others
& then be even kinder to yourself.
You are so much more than
just a reflection in the mirror
staring back at you.

Breathe blood,
sweat tears,
work your ass off for things
that truly matter.
Most things in life are not
important, nor matter,
but it’s important that we
give a shit
& do them anyway.

Keep fear seated
at the back of your bus,
never the driver.
And for fuc’s sake,
do not live ur life
as if you were
an untouched couch covered in plastic?!

And this years epic learning curve
is to wish myself
and for all others
to constantly check in
and ask oneself ~
‘Does this Soul
add value to my life?’
If Yes ~ Arms wide open,
access to unlimited time,
connection with curiosity
& excited to share…
But if it’s No ~
Then its a beautiful smile
& a polite side step to the left.
Wish them well, wave them goodbye
& carry on giving to others
& soaring to high places
that you’re working towards
& dreaming to be…

A portion of any sales made by Soul Stories on this day wil be donated to one of my special animal organisations S.A.C – Australia (Save a Cow). S.A.C is Australia’s biggest cow sanctuary & biggest ‘large farm animal’ sanctuary ~ to find out more, please click HERE.

Save a Cow

For the who are new to Soul Stories, lm constantly tying my passions together, and something lm very passionate about is being Vegan and taking care of animals in many ways. I’ve been meaning to sponsor a beautiful cow from this INSPIRING site (Save A Cow – Sponsorship – SAC Australia) for quite some time now, and after watching one heartbreaking video on what happens to many ‘male’ calves in Australia (why this video l don’t know, as l’ve seen hundreds) i couldnt stop crying, so l jumped onto ‘Save a Cow’ on Facebook immediately.
Lucky for me, a lovely lady called Kas was online, updating details on the main page etc… I read through the most current cows that required sponsoring and l found this beauty (below) called  ‘BRUCE’. There was a string of comments under his photo, people saying that they would sponsor him only if no one else would, or would sponsor him later on by a certain date. Nawww, poor little veggiemite, he was so close to be sponsored but no one had fully committed. After reading up on ALL the  information and stories on their website, l chatted with Kas and asked if l could Sponsor Bruce? Of course she answered ‘YES PLEASE’.
I learnt that he’s only 15mths old, and currently trying to find out his exact birth date, as l have a funny feeling that his special day will be very close to mine…
Will post more information below about Anthony’s journey and his passionate organisation ‘Save a Cow
I may not change the world, but l can save one life… and that simply means everything to that one life xx t

p.s Just found out that Bruce was born on January 26th, 2015 ~ a little Australia Day bub… Nawwww. 😉

Save a Cow

Anthony Walsgott founded Save a Cow and the Save A Cow Program in 2010 and in those five years has saved more than 200 cows, calves, steers and bulls from the slaughterhouse and dairy industries, caring for them all on a number of Save A Cow Sanctuaries where they are living out the remainder of their natural lives safely and free from human exploitation and cruelty. Save A Cow is now by far one of the largest Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuaries in the world. Many of the cows, calves, steers and bulls have been rehabilitated and nursed back to health from their prior cruelty filled lives. Anthony Walsgott needs YOUR HELP to help all of the rescues, so please open your heart to the cows, calves, steers and bulls and give generously to them thank you!

World Vegan Day ~ Melbourne 2015

Ohhhh ~ this news has made my month!!!!!
2 of my passions rolled onto one. I am so beyond grateful xxx
Thanks to my lovely artist friend, Catherine Hiller, for passing on the information in the first place.

“Hi Tams,
Congratulations you have been accepted into the World Vegan Day Arts stall. If you can please complete the attached application asap to confirm your booking. We will also have tables so you are able to display some of your sculptures if your interested.

World Vegan Day ~ Melbourne

Magic Stitches

You carefully pulled out
my golden wings that had been
broken & boxed up beneath my bed
for far too long…
& with your compassion & skill,
I could barely feel your gentle fingers
stitching them to my skin & bones,
reminding me how to use them again….
