Guest Speaker for Sale Women’s Support Group ~ 2015

My old school friend Caitlyn Harbour, has kindly invited me to be a guest speaker at the Women’s Support Group in Sale. As far as l know, for the next two months their group will be focussing on ‘Creativity’ and exploring all aspects that fall underneath this theme. Caitlyn has allowed me to cover a wide variety of topics within my talk ~ so I will be speaking about the importance of creativity in our lives, my own personal stories on dance & art and then sharing a few techniques that get my creative juices flowing and practicing with them.
I feel very honoured to speaking amongst these lovely ladies and l’m hoping that l can inspire them in many ways during the time l’m with them…
If you would like to know a little bit more about Sale Women’s Support Group, l have post below some information that should be able to answer all of your questions. It also sounds like a wonderful way to meet new friends and learn something new throughout out each session that brings everyone together.
Take care & hope to see you there sometime, tams x
Sale Women’s Support Group; supporting women through shared experiences, reducing social isolation and skill building activities.
During 2005, Debra Smith; psychologist, identified a need for a safe and supportive group for local women with a focus on good mental health, chronic pain, anxiety and social issues to encourage confidence, build personal networking skills and strengthen their own abilities. A craft group was initially formed which has evolved into full term program of activities, guest speakers, workshops and community based involvement.
In this time, with much goodwill, donations of materials and voluntary time from facilitators, we have been able to provide the group with low cost activities, excursions, speakers and mental health practitioners who have presented on topics the group has identified as important for only a gold coin donation. With much thanks to Wellington Shire Council Quick Response Grant we are able to offer more range of activities over the next year whilst still keeping participant costs to a minimum.
