Same Ol’ Story

Title: Same Ol’ Story

Without thinking twice
~ she left her transparent heart
leaned up against the pot plant
sitting at the end of his kitchen bench,
where she last breathed him in
& kissed his lips goodbye.

But sadly he forgot
~ & simply couldn’t see it
when she wasn’t around
to remind him how to feel.

So it ended up on the floor,
carelessly swept out the door,
patiently waiting for her
to gather up courage
& call it back ‘home home’
once again… April 13 .23
