Collecting Breadcrumbs

Title: Collecting Breadcrumbs

To avoid deep sadness
is also to run away from love.

Just a few breadcrumbs
remaining in the faded place
where my heart used to be…
But even they felt too stale
to hang onto anymore,
& figured to gift them to
an affectionate duck instead…
