Trickles Out Sideways

Where do you place all of your
overflowing feelings &
vast amounts of big love
when you’re unable to gift it
to the heart intended for?

When there isn’t space
in your body to push it aside
& pretend not to feel
such incredible sensations?

So it all trickles out sideways,
whatever chance it can
~ warm tears spilling down your cheeks,
enormous lumps growing in your throat,
unable to breathe and the dull ache,
pressing against your chest.

There is no answer to this question,
other than if you have the courage
to open up the heart faucet &
love so freely, so fiercely,
then it’s necessary
to free fall to the floor when
you’re unable to be caught
by the arms you long for…
