SUMMARY:Guest Speaker for Sale Women’s Support Group ~ 2015
DESCRIPTION:My old school friend Caitlyn Harbour\, has kindly invited me to be a guest speaker at the Women’s Support Group in Sale. As far as l know\, for the next two months their group will be focussing on ‘Creativity’ and exploring all aspects that fall underneath this theme. Caitlyn has allowed me to cover a wide variety of topics within my talk ~ so I will be speaking about the importance of creativity in our lives\, my own personal stories on dance & art and then sharing a few techniques that get my creative juices flowing and  practicing with them. \nI feel very honoured to speaking amongst these lovely ladies and l’m hoping that l can inspire them in many ways during the time l’m with them… \nIf you would like to know a little bit more about Sale Women’s Support Group\, l have post below some information that should be able to answer all of your questions. It also sounds like a wonderful way to meet new friends and learn something new throughout out each session that brings everyone together.\nTake care & hope to see you there sometime\, tams x \nSale Women’s Support Group; supporting women through shared experiences\, reducing social isolation and skill building activities. \nDuring 2005\, Debra Smith; psychologist\, identified a need for a safe and supportive group for local women with a focus on good mental health\, chronic pain\, anxiety and social issues to encourage confidence\, build personal networking skills and strengthen their own abilities. A craft group was initially formed which has evolved into full term program of activities\, guest speakers\, workshops and community based involvement. \nIn this time\, with much goodwill\, donations of materials and voluntary time from facilitators\, we have been able to provide the group with low cost activities\, excursions\, speakers and mental health practitioners who have presented on topics the group has identified as important for only a gold coin donation. With much thanks to Wellington Shire Council Quick Response Grant we are able to offer more range of activities over the next year whilst still keeping participant costs to a minimum. \nSale Women’s Support Group are a ‘Not For Profit’ social support group\nwho meet every Tuesday during the school term.\nTime: 1.00pm – 2.30pm a\nWhere: Sale Neighborhood House\n 19 – 23 Leslie Street\, Sale\, 3850 \nThe first ‘try before you buy’ group attendance is free however we have a minimal fee of $5 per group for casual attendance and $3 per group for full payment. \nOur program of activities are developed to promote community connection\, mental and physical wellbeing and inclusion whilst building resilience and skills for participants in a safe and supported environment. The role of the Sale Women’s Support Group and it’s committee is to provide a strengths based program for local women to develop skills\, share and gain knowledge in a safe social environment.\nThe aims of SWSG is to encourage wider community participation; supporting women through individual circumstances using our personal and group resources\, experience\, knowledge and skills. \nThere are no Age\, Ability or Cultural restrictions to attend. ALL Women are Welcome.\nSome of our past activities have included games days\, mosaics\, card making\, seasonal produce cooking\, making fascinators and hairpieces\, Melbourne Cup luncheon\, pamper day\, guided garden tours\, workshops; grief\, anger\, assertiveness and self care. \n  \nFor any enquiries call Maxine 0429864823 or Caitlin 0447008493.\nAlternatively feel free to come along to Sale Neighborhood House on a Tuesday during School term and see if the group suits you. \n  \n       \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Linden Postcard Show ~ 2015
DESCRIPTION:Sooooo\, this year l will NOT be missing out on this beautiful little (big) show. Unfortunately (and very fortunately) l was up in QLD last year\, assisting a beautiful ‘Awakenings Retreat’ ~ but that meant that l wasn’t able to catch the exhibition which featured over 900 works. And what’s even more surprising (well\, for me) is that l sold one Soul Stories piece\, from the three that were submitted… \nAnyways\, this year is a whole different ball game ~ this time I’m really looking forward to checking it out in the real\, to be inspired up close and to meet some wonderful artists…\nWinning prizes and selling my creations are the last thing on my mind. For me it’s so much more about pushing my artistic boundaries to meet the requirements of the show\, to build my confidence in getting my work out there and connecting with the public who might be a little bit touched by what they see. Of course l wouldn’t say that l ‘wouldn’t’ be over the moon if anything were to sell or win\, haha…\nHope to see some friendly faces on opening night\, much love & light\, t x \n. \n                                                 \n  \nOPENING CELEBRATION: Friday 18 September 2015 > 4 to 8PM \nThe much-loved Linden Postcard Show is an annual feature of the Linden calendar. SUMMARY:Little Lionhearts Cocktail Fundraiser 2015
DESCRIPTION:My lovely friend Selena Wool (founder of ‘Little Lionhearts’ ) reached out to ask if l could donate a few Soul Stories creations to be part of her special fundraiser coming up. Which of course I agreed and started packing them up immediately.\nThis wonderful lady inspires me greatly\, all who she is and what she does. So if Soul Stories can support her in any shape or form\, l will be there\, 100% of the way. \nLittle Lionhearts was born after the loss of Ashley James Heath Wool\, a little boy who put up an almighty fight for life. \nSelena hopes that overtime\, ‘Little Lionhearts’ will be able to continue to support the pregnancy loss/bereaved community through various projects and fundraisers. \nHer beautiful organisation especially fundraises to provide Cuddle Cots to hospitals. These vital pieces of hospital equipment allow families to spend precious time\, creating memories\, with their child. The Cuddle Cot is used to cool deceased neonatals allowing the family time to be close with their baby whilst the baby is kept cool. It is small\, and quiet and is placed discreetly in a bassinet. \n \nThey aim to raise valuable funds during their fundraiser cocktail party to complete their Cuddle Cot for Pregnancy Loss Australia. Please share/feel free to invite friends and family as it will be a wonderful evening! \nWhen: Saturday\, July 25th 2015\nWhere: Story Bridge Hotel – Martini Bar\nTime 6pm – 8.30pm\n(officially\, but you are welcome to stay longer) \n  \nCanapes and Fork dishes (enough to be dinner)\, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included in ticket price. \nAdults: $60 and Children $20 \nWho doesn’t love a photobooth for those fun memories (included in ticket price) or to enjoy a glass of wine next to a log fire… Please note: access to Martini Bar is via stairs only. \n  \nIf you would like to donate towards our next Cuddle Cot\, please visit here \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:YOKE Magazine 2015
DESCRIPTION:What can l more can l say? I believe in this magazine\, l believe in this woman\, l believe in her vision and all she has to offer ~ to open our eyes and connect with each other\, through truth\, organic and authentic ways.\nCybthia humbly reached out for help and all Soul Stories can do is gentle take her hand\, donate a few $$ and keep sharing her dream to the rest of the world. \nPlease\, please please ~ with all of my heart\, read her story\, watch her video and be touched by her beautiful Yoke team and all she has to offer… Much love to you inspiring girl ~ and maybe one day Soul Stories will be honoured to grace their pages\nxx t \n\nYOKE is a refreshing & inspiring NEW print magazine\, now in its third issue.\nInterested in the power and manifestations of what it is to develop inspiration\, YOKE is a holistic magazine that brings together yogic philosophies\, art and the passion of our artists to bring to life an altruistic vision – a place where voices can be heard and together offer people an alternative. \nAt YOKE we embrace this exciting and challenging era by digging deep into the world of creativity\, where we believe our collective spirit can genuinely create real\, positive change. \nWhether it’s yogic philosophy\, an interview with an interesting person or a creative process revealed\, YOKE encourages you to explore the hidden corners of yourself.\nTELL ME MORE\, WHAT CAN I FIND WITHIN ITS PAGES?\nYOKE is a collaboration of amazing international writers\, photographers and illustrators\, with a strong emphasis on text and imagery\, intimate interviews\, short and long form features\, and specially commissioned original creative works. \nWe aim to uniquely convey the message of mindfulness through intelligent storytelling and beautiful imagery with sections specific to People & Spaces\, the Arts & Culture\, Community\, Food & Wellbeing\, and Travel with a purpose. Each edition focuses its pages around an over-arching theme to tie it together with purpose. \n\nWe celebrate beautiful ideas\, people and art. We commission original content from local and international writers\, photographers and illustrators. We live joyfully in the small moments\, the stories of difference and the modern relevance of ancient ideas.\n\nWHY YOKE?\nYOKE brings much needed fuel for our hearts and minds at a time when we need this more than ever. YOKE ultimately seeks to explore ways we can stay more grounded and true to our planet\, our loved ones and ourselves. At a critical time when the digital age is moving faster than ever\, when our lives are becoming more fragmented and when ‘connecting’ is somehow disconnecting us. \nAs a growing number of people\, including creatives\, are turning to yogic philosophies as a life-long way to feel grounded and connected to themselves and their artistic process\, we think this is an exciting time to merge yogic and creative life in one beautiful bespoke print publication. \nWHO IS BEHIND YOKE?\nMulti-talented creative and recognised Sydney photographer\, Cynthia Sciberras\,has studied Ashtanga yoga for over a decade and is dedicated to living a yogic life. Believing in the power of possibility and that through creativity you can create a powerful ripple effect – and in fact\, change the world – Cynthia hopes to reinvigorate and inspire ways of living a more fulfilling life through creativity and consciousness. \nWorking closely with global copy agency The Copy Collective\, YOKE features both local and international writers\, photographers and illustrators\, specially commissioned for creative original works to match each themed issue. Current contributors can be found here.  \nWHAT ARE WE ASKING FOR?\nUp till now this has been a labour of love\, and entirely self-funded. We believe in publishing independently so we can stay true to our voice\, which is why we’re connecting with you through crowdfunding. With your help\, this local indie magazine can crack the market and spread its wings even further. \n \n  \n\nWe have two issues and almost 10k copies of YOKE in the world already\, so we know it’s a treasured thing – an opportunity to discover your authentic self.\n\nWe have already printed two very well received issues\, with 10\,000 copies already out floating around in existence\, and we would love for this publication to be comfortable in its reprinting potential.\n\nYour money would help us to meet some of the production costs of issue #3. \nYOKE is printed locally in Australia. For now we’ve chosen to keep it local to save on cost for shipping and lessen the environmental impact. \nYOKE is free from advertising\, which we believe allows us to stay more true to the words on our pages and give your mind a break. However\, this approach is financially restrictive. \nOUR target is $30\,000 to print 2000 magazines.\nOur tipping point is $15\,000 \nAny further money from reaching our tipping point would benefit us by enabling to continue our engagement with:\n– Writers\n– Designers\n– Illustrators / photographers \n  \n \nWHERE WILL OUR MONEY GO?\nWho will be connected? \nThe local production and the Australian focus of positive media will continue to make an appealing stand in the local community. We aim to spread our wings beyond local boarders and show to a broad audience how this delicious magazine can help “to be yoked”. \nThe completion of issue #3 and the potential engagement with further contributors will therefore connect with anyone who is interested in:\nArt\nCulture\nYoga\nEnvironmental Sustainability\nWanderlust\nSocial issues\nLife and all its beauty \nOur long-term dream:\nIn the long term we plan to keep publishing YOKE magazine\, increase our reach and display various other ways of holistic living as a valuable contribution to our community. \nThe aim is to share and muse with you. To discover\, and indulge in the ancient philosophies and the contemporary wisdom that merge into the magic that is all around us\, and capture it within our publication. \nThank-you for reading about our journey\, we hope you believe in it as much as we do and accept one of our pledges. \n \nOpen your heart to kindness\, compassion and the spark of your own creativity. And from these small seedlings allow a greater awareness to grow.

SUMMARY:Sample. Magazine ~ Identity Design
DESCRIPTION:When I received an newsletter from ‘Print Together’ explaining about their wonderful Sample Magazine and how they were reaching out to be funded by ‘POZIBLE’ ~ I didnt bat an eyelid and donated straight away. This printing company has been MORE than accommodating since finding my feet back in Australia. Not only answering a million of my questions\, printing up my current Soul Stories booklets\, they are largely responsible for all of printing and half of the paper donation for Melbourne Microspace Space Galleries ~ Used & Abused project\, March 2014. \nI honestly can not thank this company (especially Cameron) for all of their patience and inspiring ‘print’ work to date. Please dont hesitate to check out there amazing project below and if you need any kind of print work that requires premium-quality 100% recycled paper\, vegetable-based inks and a clean\, green collective printing process ~ these guys are the ones. \nThe story of the project \nSample. magazine is a resource to showcase a selection of the best print design projects from around the world. By definition\, Sample. gives examples of print design projects to inform\, educate and inspire students\, designers and business owners alike.\nIt’s an independent and international magazine published three times a year by PrintTogether in Melbourne\, Australia. It is published as a digital download\, as well as a limited-edition perfect-bound magazine printed on 100% recycled paper. The printed magazine is available exclusively as a pre-sale through Pozible; printed copies will not be available for sale after production. \nInside Issue 001\nIn Issue 001. we start at the very beginning\, investigating identity design. We chat with 20 of the best print designers from 13 different countries around the world. \nConsisting of 128 pages of content\, Issue 001. looks at identity projects from start to finish. We explore pre-project\, how each came about\, and meeting clients’ briefs and budgets.\nWe go beyond portfolio pictures\, delving deeper to discuss the ideas behind concepts – the unseen thinking and research that goes into design projects.\nWe also take a practical look at processes – how designs are developed\, fonts specified\, and materials and finishes utilised. Finally\, we look at results and the value of design in creating successful identities. Download a free preview PDF of Issue 001. at: www.samplemagazine.com.au/issue-001/ \nGet Involved\nIssue 001. will be released on 1 August 2015. Support us on Pozible and receive a copy of the digital download or limited-edition printed version\, as well as options to have your name or business name credited in the back of the magazine and on the Sample.website. With your help\, we can share ideas and discuss how design reflects and informs the world around us. We hope you enjoy Issue 001. \nWe now need as much support as we can get so we have set up a Pozible campaign to help fund Issue 001. \nIf you think this is a worthy project\, please make a pledge of support here. Thanks for your help.

DESCRIPTION:I came across my friends FB page not so long ago and read some words which resonated deeply in my heart: \n“PLEASE HELP US TO RAISE MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL. This is where Bodhi goes to school\, I think one of the most awesome schools on the planet\, a place of compassion\, mindfulness and where the kids really love and own\, thank you\, Gav x” \nl truly believe that a better\, brighter future is made possible by becoming more aware of our hearts\, our feelings and by understanding empathy & compassion… And it seems to me that this school is very much on par with the same teachings that I (& Soul Stories) feel are extremely important… \nSoul Stories can only donate $25\, but as i say to many\, if someone offered me $1\, I definitely wouldn’t throw it in the gutter – all of the small pieces soon add up very quickly\, which then turns dreams into a reality.\nSo share\, read or donate that $1 – every tiny dot connects to another dot and will create that big and beautiful picture…\nMuch love\, tx \nWhy the Dharma School is important. \nOur children are our hope for the future.\nWe’re a 7-year-old independent school with 60 primary students and more to come. We’re ready to open our secondary school but we’ve struck a major setback. Our lease has run out and we have to build a new home for our school in a matter of months. \nWe have found the perfect site – a beautiful\, sloping field on the edge of Wombat Hill in Daylesford. Now we need to raise the money to buy it.\nWe can’t do it alone. We need your support to grow our school\, to help us buy the land and build a new school to teach the wise and compassionate leaders of tomorrow. \nBy giving\, you provide the promise of something bigger than land\, more important than just another school. By giving you are contributing to a better future for our children and the world around us. \n \nWhy Give? \nIf the way of the world doesn’t change here\, then where?\nIf wisdom and compassion are not learnt now\, then when?\nIf we can’t save our planet with loving kindness\, then how?\nIf our children are not the hope for humanity\, then who?\nWe’re here to make a difference. \nOur children are our future. They are the hope of humanity as the challenges that face us around the world continue to escalate. These challenges call for a new kind of humanity and a new kind of leadership – one that is not based on power and will alone. But a humanity that is guided by the enduring qualities of wisdom and compassion. These are the qualities that lead to right action. One-pointed and altruistic\, with the highest good as our goal. \nOver time we are seeing a new kind of child emerge at the school. One who adopts an attitude of open-heartedness. Who chooses to act from a clear sense of what is right. Who is learning to master conflict resolution. Who considers their impact on the world around them. Who is guided to seek the highest good for all. \nWe believe the world needs more children like this\, children who will grow into adults with values and qualities than can make a true difference. Loving parents\,compassionate leaders\, benevolent business operators\, caring workers\, wise teachers\, truthful politicians\, true peace makers. \nThis is why the Daylesford Dharma School is important

SUMMARY:Awakening & Wellness Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Hard to believe that 8mths ago – l posted this piece: \n“Whilst we are all are on our own paths & with stories to tell ~ lm going to share a little of one of mine regarding art\, energies\, sharing\, soul stories and healing..\nFor many months now\, I have been affirming to the world – please\, please please\, somehow let Soul Stories be a platform for me to create a bigger picture for others. One where my art\, my stories and the light that I have to offer can guide & give hope to others\, when they find themselves fumbling in the dark…\nIt seems that some of my tiny dots are connecting with a few other souls and their stars ~ & a very beautiful picture is forming right in front of our eyes. I have recently met an ‘INCREDIBLE’ circle of inspiring young ladies from Queensland\, who have so much understanding of love\, compassion\, loss\, grief\, kindness\, hope & healing that leaves me overwhelmed. Soul Stories has somehow been discovered & woven amongst these ladies incredible quest to help others and has just recently been humbly invited (by Esther Chamberlain) to be a guest speaker/story teller through art at a self-awareness “Awakening Retreat” near Dayboro.” \n\n  \nLucky for me the invitation has been extended once again!\nI will be heading up to QLD during the long weekend in June\, where l will be guest speaking on life stories\, the importance of creativity and techniques of channeling it from inside to out. The Retreat consists of 2 nights & 3 days of guided wellness\, self connection & relaxation in a beautiful mountain side setting near Dayboro.\nThis wonderful self connecting weekend will take place Sat 5th of June to Mon 7th. \nOnce again\, the price of this retreat for the clients is incredibly ‘LOW’ ~ thanks to the wonderful counsellors on board (Kim\, Aggy & Esther)\, myself\, a yogi and a masseur volunteering their time & paying their own way to keep all costs down to give those who truly need & want a chance benefit from this beautiful experience… \nFor details of the next Awakenings Retreat\, jump over to the page or drop Esther a line anytime… Im soooooo looking forward to this special time away and connecting with beautiful souls out there… Much love always\, tx \n  \n  \n
