SUMMARY:Where Theres A Will ~ Bunbury Exhibiton
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to my dear artist/friend Shawn Ardoin (based in USA) and my curiosity as to why he was painting an Australian Cricket Bat ~ I was lucky enough to learn about an inspiring young boy called Will diagnosed with autism and his organization ‘Where There’s A Will’. After watching their incredible & beyond inspiring story on ‘A Current Affair’ – I was hook\, line\, and sinker all the way and immediately reached out to Ange Clarke (CEO and beautiful mum of Will) asking to participate in Will’s special cricket bat journey… \nLucky me\, Ange said yes and also invited me to be a part of their next exhibition\, based in Bunbury. Of course l didn’t have to think twice before saying yes – and once l learn more details as to ‘when’ and ‘where’ the next exhibition will take place\, I will be sure to share with everyone.\nIn the meantime\, I’ve received my sanded down cricket bat and have to get a move on\, to create a very special Soul Stories for it…\nWatch this space… \nAnd a massive thank you Ange Clarke!\nThank you to allow Soul Stories to be a part of your journey\, which l feel is simply parallel to Soul Stories heart journey – same same but different\, creating more kindness\, compassion\, empathy\, and inclusion in the world. We can never have enough\, gentle reminders\, one person at a time… xt \n.\n \n“We are also known as Willo and we have a clear purpose.\nTo inspire and influence inclusion for people who live with intellectual challenges… through connection.”\nPeople with intellectual challenges constitute a group at a very high risk of exclusion at a community level. They are often denied opportunities to fully participate in the activities of their communities because they are seen as not able: they are seen as disabled. \nWillo inspires artists and community members to paint cricket bats that have been refurbished by people living with intellectual challenges. These communities are brought together through cricket and art\, realised through cricket bat art exhibitions. \nThe exhibitions create an opportunity to connect which has the potential to change individual behaviours and perceptions of inclusion at all levels in the community. \n100% of funds raised from the exhibitions create community-owned\, community-driven and community-managed services for “all abilities” in the community. A place for people to feel they truly belong and a place they feel they can connect\, learn\, and be supported by and with their community. \nWillo has lived just this experience for 24 years and we understand that belongingness; our connection to our friends and our community\, is a fundamental human emotional need. \n\n.\nFor more information please visit Willo’s website HERE\nFor Wills Story on ‘A Current Affair” click HERE\n.\n.\n\n             \n \n…               \n          \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Yarram Chalk Art Festival ~ 2021
DESCRIPTION:When an email from Yarrams ‘Matt Langdon’ asking me about my Chalk Art skills – l honestly told him that I’d never tried before but always up to explore and push artistic boundaries. I honestly didn’t think I’d have a hope on earth to be a part of this exciting new festival – but look out!? I was extremely humbled and lucky to be one of the chosen few to be a part of Yarram’s premier Chalk Artist Event. I loved that such an exciting event was taking place so close to my county home\, also enabling me to meet a lot of other artist completely out of my normal artistic circle of friends \nIt’s all about learning from others and sharing stories right? WOW\, then this was everything – with the public\, other artists\, all the amazing people piecing the event together – it truly was a wonderful event – so many grounded and humble people coming together\, many of us out of our comfort zones but up to work hard and have a laugh at the same time – that’s where the true magic lies\, everything flowing together with ease… We all had such a blast and already keen to sign up for the next one!!!!! \nBIg hugs\, love gratitude to you Matt\, Lauti\, and Yarram gang\, thank you for bending over backward to accommodate us all and for being super organized and hands-on to make it happen with such success!! xx t \n  \n  \n\nChalk Art Festival this weekend:\n\n\nFootpaths in Yarram will be transformed into a temporary public art gallery this weekend\, as more than a dozen chalk artists display their talents on footpaths.\nThe inaugural Yarram Chalk Art Festival will take place in the town’s main street Saturday and Sunday.\nArtists will captivate bystanders as they take to the pavement armed with vivid pastel chalks\, spending hours drawing on their hands and knees.\nThe event has been arranged by Yarram and District Traders Association.\n\n.\n.\n\nYARRAM CHALK ART FESTIVAL 2021\nWhere: Yarram\nTime & When: Saturday 16th of January\, 9am until\nSunday 17th of January\, 6pm-ish \n\n\n\nEvent Afterview:\n\n\nYarram’s main street was transformed into a colourful public art gallery this weekend after the town’s Inaugural Chalk Art Festival.\n\n\nTen artists from around the world took to the streets to create their own striking designs and drew crowds from far and wide.\n\n\nPresident of the Yarram & District Tourism Traders Association Matt Langdon said the event was a collaborative effort.\n\n\n\n“I had an Argentinian artist named Lautaro Musse come in and paint a mural for my shop about four months ago and he saw the potential for a festival in Yarram so we decided to make that happen\,” Mr Landon said.\n\n\n“Part of the focus of this event was to get money back into local businesses and support artists who have been hit hard by the pandemic… if anything lockdown has made people realise that there are things to do locally in Yarram so I hope it continues\,” he said.\n\n\n\nThe small dairy farming town of just over 2\,000 people has slowly gained a name for itself as a regional street-art destination after popular artist Heesco painted 10 murals on buildings across the town last year.\n\n\nThe patches of rain on Saturday didn’t dampen the occasion either as hundreds of people passed through to take pictures\, eat and enjoy live music and family activities.\n\n\n.\n.\n          .        \n\n.\n                    .  \n\n.\n            .        \n.\n                             .   \n.\n           .       \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Linden New Art Post Card Show ~ 2019
DESCRIPTION:Wow that s 2 years in a row I will be lucky enough to have the time to swing by and support all the artists taking part in the Linden Post Card Show!!!! One of my favourite shows (which of course l love being a part of) which will feature over 1000 works from talented artists\, near and far\, all around Australia.\nAs always\, winning prizes and selling my creations are the last thing on my mind. For myself\, it’s so much more about pushing my artistic boundaries to meet the requirements of the show\, to build my confidence in getting my work out there and connecting with the public who might be a little bit touched by what they see. Of course\, l wouldn’t say that l ‘wouldn’t be over the moon’ if anything were to sell or win anything\, haha… \nThis year’s postcard pieces created were inspired by broken and beautiful experiences this year – along with nature’s things that break or discarded materials that are considered useless. I wanted to create something completely this year – pushing boundaries and creating beauty that was once broken… I hope you enjoy them as much as l felt whilst creating them ~ much love & magic\, t x \nI am Broken & it’s beautiful…\n \n2 Original Soul Stories created on recycled tile with acrylics\, mounted on reclaimed Iron Bark ~ collected from a property from Moroka Rd\, Gippsland and the other 2 pieces are created on recycled tile with acrylics\, mounted on reclaimed Yellow Stringy Bark ~ collected from a property above Valencia Creek\, Gippsland. Both trees had been knocked over by significant winds and have been treated on one side with a semi-gloss clear coat.\nOne of kind valued at $250 aud \n  \n…………               \n  \nOPENING CELEBRATION: \nFriday 23rd of November 2018 ~ 4 to 8PM \nThe much-loved Linden Postcard Show is an annual feature of the Linden calendar. An open entry exhibition for all artists from hobbyist\, emerging to established\, allows for an explosion of colour on the gallery walls. The only restriction is the size. All works must be exactly 8 x 10 inches. \nInvite all of your family & friends along to the official opening night at: \nLinden New Art on Friday 23 November 2017 4pm-8pm! \nRemind them to bring their wallets so they can support a living artist & buy a mini-masterpiece of their own.\nPrizes will be announced from 6.30PM. Click here for a full list of prizes! \n  \nCan’t make the opening? Come along to see your work on the wall & say hello. The exhibition runs from 23 November 2018 to February 9 2019.\nDon’t forget to take a selfie with your work and tag #LindenPostcardShow \nThree judges have been selected to award the prizes and assist in celebrating the creativity of our community. \nThe 2019 Linden Postcard Show judges are: \n~ Annika Kristensen\nSenior Curator\, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art\n\n~ Phillip Adams\nArtistic Director\, BalletLab at Temperance Hall\n\n~ Julie McLaren\nCurator\, Art Gallery of Ballarat\n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Guest Speaker for Latrobe Ladies Probus Club - October 2019
DESCRIPTION:  \nThanks to my dear friend Mariana Pearce and her gentle nudge\, four months ago I was kindly asked by Alison Robbins\, one of the organizers form the Latrobe Ladies Probus Club in Gippsland\, if I would be interested in guest speaking at one of their meetings this year. We had an in-depth discussion over the phone so I could explain what Soul Stories is\, how it all works and more about my life & creative journey  ~ and in return she explained what the Probus was all about and what would be expected if l were to guest speak. Alison casually mentioned that their group consisted of approximately 80 women and the talk normally lasts about 30-45 minutes! I reassured her that l had spoken at different events/retreats before – erm\, but not for this length of time and in front of that many people!?!? Oh my\, just a little bit freaked out –  so of course l said yes\, knowing that pushing boundaries is always a YES\, because that’s where the growth and magic happens\, right? \nAnyways – I’m excited and more than just a little bit nervous to be presenting a very special talk (see below) for the Latrobe Ladies Probus Club on Monday 28th  October\, 11am\, at the RSL Club in Traralgon. I’ve also been given permission to set up a little Soul Stories display table\, where some creations can be purchased after the talk. So everyone pretty please wish me big love and luck as l add another feather to my cap and hopefully inspire some beautiful souls out there! Much love\, tams x \n\n\n  \nhttps://www.probusvic.com.au\n  \n\nProbus is an Association of active retirees who join together in clubs\, the basic purpose of which is to provide regular opportunities to keep their minds active\, expand their interests and enjoy the fellowship of new friends. All Clubs are sponsored by Rotary Clubs.  On forming they become self-governing but remain within limits of their constitution. \nA Brief History: Probus originated in the U.K. in 1965\, the first Australian Club was formed in 1976\, Essendon Central Probus Club was formed in 1990. Probus has filled a need for today’s active retirees\, so much so that the growth has been phenomenal. It is now a worldwide movement in 22 countries \n\nThe Emphasis is on Clubs:  Probus Clubs are simple in structure – they are free from the constraints & obligations of service Clubs; membership cost is minimal; their focus is mainly directed at providing an opportunity to extend acquaintances and interests\, and they seek members compatible with one another. \nClub Structure: Whilst Probus Clubs are self-governing\, they must adhere to a basic set of rules of operation in order to preserve their integrity and reputation – thus they are non political and non sectarian\, they are non profit-making and non fundraising\, and as their office bearers change annually they provide for a variety of leadership.

We would love to share the day with you as we celebrate 100 years of Steiner Education. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nhttp://www.drss.vic.edu.au\n\n  \n…  …  … …             \n  \n… … … …             \n  \nOpen Day 2019: Sunday 27th October 10am-3pm\n~ About Us ~\nWe are an independent School\, Kindergarten & Playgroup based on the educational model founded by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).  Our School is located in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges; rich in natural beauty.  Our Early Childhood Campus\, which houses Playgroup\, Kindergarten & Prep\, is located in Menzies Creek in the Yarra Ranges Shire. Just a short drive down the road you will find our Primary Campus\, which houses Classes 1-6. The Primary Campus is located in Emerald\, on the border of Narre Warren East\, in the Cardinia Shire.  Both are approximately 45 km East of the CBD Of Melbourne\, Victoria\, Australia. \nAt the Dandenong Ranges Steiner School\, the Steiner Curriculum is offered in a unique manner that integrates the school within its community and the particular features of our school. These features derive from the character of our school community and the school’s physical location. They include the semi-rural aspect of the school\, and the interests of the founding families\, enabling us to have a strong nature-based Program. The school community is made up of many people professionally involved in the Arts. Many members of the school community come to us as part of a commitment to holistic living in a broad sense\, manifested in natural foods and clothing\, and a commitment to organic/biodynamic/natural food. A number of our main lesson topics incorporate the history and geography of the local area. \n

As a school we strive to serve the freedom of the human spirit by providing a balanced and disciplined environment in which a full range of academic and creative subjects blend to nourish the whole child. \nWe work with the developing child through an educational philosophy based on Rudolf Steiner’s deep insights into human nature\, to help the child grow and unfold into a creative and responsible individual. One of Rudolf Steiner’s most powerful and important insights was that the child\, growing in strength and ability through the years\, passes through separate and distinct stages of development. Out of this insight\, a curriculum and teaching method that fits the child’s various stages of development is implemented across our school. \nWe invite you to visit our school to find out more about Little Yarra Steiner School’s unique educational approach. \n

SUMMARY:Linden Postcard Show 2018
DESCRIPTION:Sooooo\, this year lm lucky enough to have the time to swing by and support all the artists taking part the Linden Post Card Show!!!! Of course\, l wouldn’t say that l ‘wouldn’t be over the moon’ if anything were to sell or win anything\, haha… \nThis year’s postcard pieces created were inspired by my recent travels to the West Coast of USA – by beautiful souls who have touched my heart dearly and reminded me what’s truly important in this fast-paced and instant gratifying world that we live in these days – which somehow seems to be moving faster all the time. I was so inspired to slow down\, take time to truly listen to people’s stories and leave behind twice as much of love\, positive energy and laughter whilst still pursuing my visions and dreams\, as l journeyed over the three months…  I hope you enjoy them as much as l felt whilst creating them ~ much love & magic\, t x \n  \n    \n  \nOPENING CELEBRATION: \nFriday 23rd of November 2018 ~ 4 to 8PM \nThe much-loved Linden Postcard Show is an annual feature of the Linden calendar. The exhibition runs from 23 November 2018 to February 10 2019.\nDon’t forget to take a selfie with your work and tag #LindenPostcardShow \nThree judges have been selected to award the prizes and assist in celebrating the creativity of our community. \nThe 2018 Linden Postcard Show judges are: \n~ Penny Teale > Director\, Bunjil Place Gallery \n~ Bryony Nainby > Curator\, Benalla Art Gallery \n~ Lucie McIntosh  > Director\, Blindside \n \n
